Hi,

Error mounting MDM Server

We are unable to mount the MDM server, the error message saying

(The specified SAP instance does not exist on server mdm-sr)

mdm-sr : hostname of mdm server

FYI: The mdm server and mdm console running on the same host .

Hi,

I think there is nothing to do with DB server if you are having problem connecting MDM server to Console itself.

Which OS? and which MDM port you configured?. try restatring the service, and then MDM instance. and run the command

netstat -an | findstr <MDM port>

if you get the response as connection established, try connecting the MDM server to console as <Host>:<MDMport>

Hi Faris,

yesterday i faced the same problem. I didn't get chance to look into details what caused this issue, but I restarted Server (not just mdm instance) and it solved the problem.

if possible, please try it and revert with the result..

We already restarted the MDM server, also rebooted the OS, but still didn't work.

also the port opened (50013/50113 and 59950/59951/59952)

Faris,

Can you give it a try.. restart your DB server and then MDM server. I do not see any need for reboot the OS.

let us know your findings.

In my case it was resolved by rebooting the OS. I would suggest to check with SAP on this via OSS message.

But the DB instance is runing on the diffrent server

Not sure, but have you shifted your DB server from one to another location ..?

Hi,

No, This is new installation as below

SRM and DB on same server but the MDM server(MDS/MDIS) is on differ host where SRM-MDM Catalog installed .

DB connectivity done and tested

Check if you are able to ping all the server from each other.

Yes, we can ping all server, and versa side as well.

Wht is the sequence that you are usingt o restart the server,

The ideal sequence is,

1. Shut down MDM Sever

2. Shut Down DB Server

3. UP the DB Server

4. UP the MDM Server.

also check the note 1250004 - Can't connect to MDM server using one or several application
