test plan release schema

I am having problem with the release schema when creating the test plan.

the problem is when i create a test plan with DEFAULT release schema it is not allowing me to create test package for the generated test plan later on???

further i am able to activate workflow and release the test plan from solman_workcenter, how can i do these by SAP GUI ??

what is your solman version, does the below note applicable for you? please update

when i create test plan with release schema , its execution is by default LOCKED and doesnot allow me to create TEst Packages in the test plan???

Please check the default vaiue for the execution lock and adjust it

Execution of test is locked for testers untill the test manager release the test plan; thats fine.

But the problem is not the exection lock, problem is that when i create the test plan with a release schema , it doesn't allow me to create test package and edit the test plan.

if i remove the schema attribute from my test plan attributes, it enables me to create test package again??
