DMS_number range doubt

Hello Team,

Can i give internal number range with one alphabet in the starting. When i try to give it says enter numeric number.

Is it like only internal number is for numbers and external can have anything?

Hi,

Number ranges can be external (number to be assigned manually by the user) or internal (number assigned automatically by the system).

Internal number ranges are predefined in the system and hence we cannot modify the design.

Hence SAP came up with option of external number range where user can define his custom number range.

The reply is right my doubt is can be give define a number range like M00000000000001 to M99999999999 as internal number range.

Only alphabet "M" is not variable. but need this range as internal is it possible by any chance?

Hi

This can be done as per your requirement.

SAP has provided standard document type TST which works in similar way.

It is having mixed number range and always start with ZNG**

For this you need to activate exit and assign in document type in DC10

Use this BAPI for the same DOCUMENT_NUMBER01 .
