High volume processing of idocs in SAP

Former Member

Hi ,

I am getting around 335,000 IDOCs inbound to SAP from SAP PI . I have scheduled almost 4 jobs with this program RBDAPP01 with packet size of 1000 but still takes around 5-6 hours to just post 40,000 IDOCs. These are GL , AP and AR posting using FIDCC1 idoc.

How can we increase the posting time? Do we need to schedule more jobs or add more hardware resources like memory and RAM?

Please advice.

Thanks,

Teresa

Hi Teresa,

Be careful with a packet size = 1000 on RBDAPP01 program, because if there is (at least) one error in a packet, it's the whole packet (so 1000 idocs) which will be rejected , in fact in error. These idocs will have a sap message like "idoc is in error coz it belongs to a packet which is in error" (don't remind the exact sap message). So after that, you have to think to reprocess them with BD87, for instance, because perhaps among the 1000, there are only 1 or 2 whcich are really in error.

So does your client accept this risk ? compare to the advantage of packed idocs...

regards.
