XI3.0 standby server

Dear all,

we are using XI3.0 at the moment.

DB is Oracle size is 750GB

We are planning to create a standby server for our central XI.

What we want is just all of the configurations like IS/IR/ID/IB/SLD to be copy from source to target. So, we can quickly switch over to this new XI, if anything happen to current central XI.

We would like to reduce the DB size, thus data is not needed.

I know there is a system content copy guide which can be used to copy the settings/config to target system.

But we are looking for a easiest way to do that, as below:

1) systemcopy source XI to target machine

2) cleanup data in target system

3) perform system export

4) install target system with exported files

Im wondering whether above method will be working?

another question is , what is stored in central XI actually bcs is 750GB? beside of XML message, what else data is stored in central XI? We would like to know this so that we could delete the data and perform system export.

Thanks

Hello

Have you configured an Archiving/Deletion strategy for this system? See note #872388 Troubleshooting Archiving and Deletion in PI. Do you have a lot of messages in error status? Check the reports mentioned in this note RSXMB_SHOW_STATUS and RSXMB_SHOW_REORG_STATUS.

Most likely you need to delete old XI messages from the system.
