ES/SHM_SEGS_VERSION

Former Member

Hi folks,

Because of some performance issues, I need to set up the parameter -> ES/SHM_SEGS_VERSION =2 on the system.

My question is: Should I set up the parameter via RZ10 transaction? I am asking that because the system doesn't recognize that parameter when I try to add it.

Thank you folks,

Hello Marilia,

Set the parameters using RZ10, and ignore the warnings if coming.

Once you have set the parameters, you can check it in instance profiles if its properly created there.

After that you have to restart the system.

All the best

Refer another discussion thread as well -

I think the warning message is normal.

Thanks

The parameter ES/SHM_SEGS_VERSION cannot be evaluated by the sappfpar as this is a parameter for special implementation of extended memory in AIX . Please set this parameter in RZ10.

Hello Marilia,

You can add that parameter in RZ10 and ignore the message for now when it throws as it's a known issue. Please go through the note suggested by Sravanti for more details and if you want, you can implement the mentioned SP for permanent fix.

Thanks,
