Periodic Residual Budget

Dear Experts,

Is it possible to pool periodic/monthly residual budget?

For example: Budget on March USD 100, cosumed on March USD 70. On April, budget begin at USD 100 again. The remaining USD 30 is being pooled (perhaps into a fund center or anything). Then based on manager approval, the remaining budget USD 30 can be used for May. Is there anyway FM could do such thing?

Many thanks.

Seren

Mar,

I'm using BCS for SAP ECC (EHP3). Do you have any idea for this matter? Thanks.

Hi,

In package ECC 4.0 there is a special object called 'budget period' that you can use for this matter, but in ECC 3.0 there is no 'standard' solution. You might though use some other FM object as a 'period'.

Thanks Eli.

How about cover pool? how does it work? is it possible to pool the remaining budget using cover pool process?

Hi,

Cover pool functionality is used in order to consume the budget from another FM objects combination. But, since period is not a part of your FM objects, it's useless. You have to make 'period' a part of your budgetary address (or combination if you don't use budget structure) in either way; otherwise, it could not be done.

Many thanks, Eli. I'll ask basis team to upgrade to EhP4 on our next development client.
