Dear all,
Our organization is planning to upgrade sap database
Our current database version is Oracle 10.2.0.2 & we are planning to upgrade it to ORACLE 11g
Activity will start in next month till the time i need to study whole procedure
please suggest your ideas about how to do it.
Thanks in advance.
Addition to above replies - First you have to plan your DB patching before going with version upgrade.
Download the latest upgrade guide for more information on this.
If you are upgrading from Oracle 10.2 to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2) in manual modeu02C6F¼^ÓÞ
If the source database runs Oracle 10.2.0.2, you need to first update the source database to at least patch set 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5. You can then perform the upgrade from 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 to 11.2.0.2, as described in this guide.

plan an upgrade to 10.2.0.4 (or 10.2.0.5) before.
The upgrade to 11 is pretty simple, the important task is the preupgrade_status.sql and check all the warnings

Hi Amol,
In addition to the SAP notes mentioned, download Oracle upgrade guide from SAP service market place and go through the same.
It will help you planning your upgrade optimally.
Hope this is useful.
