Hi All
Does anyone know how to create a sub-software component version?
I'm trying to enhance a standard SAP data type and need to create a customer specific software component version based on the SAP supplied software component version, which is apparently achieved by defining the SAP SWC as a sub-component of the customer defined SWC.
Any ideas, as the documentation is a bit vague?
Thanks
Trevor
Hi,
You can create a SWCV of your own, with a dependency on the original SWCV.
Import the new SWCV into IR. You can now view the original one in the "Basis" folder. You can proceed to make changes without touching the original one. When you make a change, a new one will be created and tracked by XI. No changes will be made to the original.
You can always verify this by going to the original SWCV and look at the modified object. You shoud not see the changes.
Regards,
Bill
