Blocked to unrestricted in QM

Hi Gurus,

There are certain instances when after UD (rejected) the business will allow usage of materials. What is the right process on putting the materials to unrestricted.

Usgae decision is the part of quality which is used to provide the decision against the materials, whether it may useable or not. As suggested by Mr. Surjit quality defines this very accurately.

Hi

For such Instances You can create your own catalog codes for the 'Usage Decisions' where u can define the codes in such a way that even after material failed it was accepted e.g. 'Accepatance under deviation', 'Partial Acceptance', 'Partial Rejection' etc.

For such cases, with the help of UD code, at least you will come to know that, even the materials failed but accepted due to some or the other reason.

Its very much depends upon the kind of process agreed by all the modules/units in an organization,type and size of organization.

Generally doing a Usage decision is a kind of approval or disapproval for Usage of material.It have more significance on "Vendor evalution-->UD score part .Apart from this UD & stock posting "can be" independent activity in an organization.

So Practically after UD as "Rejected " you should not use the material hence there is provision like "Block stock " or "scrape" or "Return delivery" in stock posting screen.

So you should not give UD as rejected & put material in "Unrestricted"
