SAP Content Server Upgrade from 6.3 to 6.4 & MaxDB 7.3 to 7.8

Dear Experts,

We are in planning of upgrade SAP Content server from 6.3 to 6.4 and MaxDB from 7.3 build 35 to 7.8.

For Content server upgrade is that we need to install the Content server 6.4 and install the latest MaxDB 7.8 and export and import the data.

We are on Win 2003 32 Bit and we are migrating to win 2008 R2 64 Bit.

Is it possible directly using database copy and restoring in MaxDB 7.8 version?

Or we need to use loadercli for migrating the data.

As per the SDN Link http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1649661

for content server upgrade is by replacing latest dll files at the respective dir.

Pls let me know your views and known issues.

Hi Everyone,

As indicated in my previous post, we are facing the HTTP 404 Not Found problem with our Content Server after we have restored the backup from the old Content Server.

We tried to look for the solution for the documents that cannot be found but the following SAP notes are not applicable to our system anymore since we are using SAP BASIS 700 SP12:

Here is my approach. On the source system we have upgraded MaxDB from 7.3.0.35 to 7.6 latest builds. As per the SAP Note after MaxDB 7.5 version backup can be restored on the same or higher versions. At the target system installed latest SAP CS and MaxDB with 7.6 and later upgrade to 7.8 directly. In Target system we restored the backup directly on MaxDB 7.8 usingMaxDB data base studio.

There were no issues in this approach and very easy.

Hi Everyone,

We have successfully restored the backup file from MaxDB 7.6.00.18 of Content Server 6.4 to MaxDB 7.6.03.09 of Content Server 6.4. However, we have the following problem when accessing the old documents from transaction code OAAD:

Error in accessing via HTTP

404 Not Found

Cannot read Document: Document does not exist
