After patch upgrade in 11g Not able to see current patch

Hi Experts,

After upgrading the patch upgrade through MOPatch from 11.2.0.2.0 to 11.2.0.2.4 , I can see the log as succeeded .

But when I am connecting through sqlplus / as sysdba the version is still showing as 11.2.0.2.0 . Have I missed something I used the readme file README_201111_AIX which is downloaded with this patch.

I have to also add one more fix_control after patch upgrade that means system is reading the right patch. So, Please suggest how to check this .

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Stephan ,

Thanks for the reply . It is the normal behaviour thats I want to confirm.

@Deepak :- Thanks for your answer but version showing from the command is 11.2.0.2.0 . From the Stephan link I have got the point its normal behaviour and we can only check it from opatch log.

Hi,

You can view the latest version applied in a file called version.txt which will be present in log folder when you applied the mopatch. It will demonstrate the updated version.

Additionally you can run sql command to check the oracle version

Select * from v$version;

or

select banner from v$version;

Hope this helps.
