Online Examinations

Hi SLCM Gurus,

Do we any online examination functionality/application available in SLCM/IS HE&R/LSO. The requirement is to conduct Online Exams and calculate the scores. Users will login using user names and password provided just before the exam, system shall capture the attendance and finally provide the score at the end of exam within 30 seconds.

Dear Vinod,

Your specific mentioned process is not available with SLcM-LSO. However the creation of online test and use them in LSO (seperately or related to an Event(type)) is available with the Authoring Environment* of SAP LSO (pure for HCM and hence the P-object! There is currently no direct integration with SLcM (ST-object)).

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply. However it will be better if i explain you the requirement.

We want to screen students before entering into university using aptitude tests/examinations. The marks scored in this written examination helped us to understand his eligibility to make an offer. At the moment we are capturing all this on paper and would like to replace it with a system.

We want the system to enable us to :

Candidates to take tests online (time bound) using user name and password provided at the test center.

o There would be 3 test papers at any given point of time

o Test papers to change once a quarter

o Automatic evaluation of the answers at the end of test

o Help data mining and statistical analysis. Ex: People coming from Geo X score 60% where as people from Geo Y score only 40%

It will be really nice to have such a functionality available in SLCM or LSO for usage. Now a days universities are replacing paper based examination systems with online examination system and this will really prove to be a USP of product.

This functionality will also capture the entrance test scenario used in India for admission process.

Hi Vinod,

Creating an 'interface' with LSO is the most feasible option if you want to make use of standard SAP (ERP) components. Thinking out loud; another option could be to create HTML test webpages and interface them with SLcM via the ISR framework. A third option is to create an interface with a system which captures the testresults. These testresults can then be registered in SAP SLcM - External Achievements/External test (and consequently be used in admission audit for example).
