ECM-Legacy to SAP transfer

Hey SAP experts,

My client currently is using ECM in a tool called orbit. My doubt may be basic but need help on this

ECM process and fields are completely different from orbit to SAP. Now we are giving them SAP ecc 6.0 with all the required ECM options.

I have not yet discussed this with client but my question is should we transfer all the earlier ECM data from their legacy system to SAP. If so how?

Usually how is ECM data transfered is it by asking them to fill in excel and do mass upload or during cutoff its moved to SAP?

First of all you need to identify those field in SAP and map legacy date field with SAP fields.

Next you need to finalize excel file format with column to upload these data and you need to take help of ABAPer (technical person) to develop upload program.

Now add/load legacy data to excel file.

During cutover/go-live upload these data through developed program.
