Forecast Consumption Issue

Former Member

Hi Experts,

We am facing an issue with forecast consumption. We are using standard planning strategy 40 with consumption mode 2 (22 days back & 4 days fwd) which is CIFed correctly to APO as requirement strategy 20 and same consumption mode.

We have a forecast released then from DP to SNP and Sales orders created and CIFed correctly. However the sales orders are not consuming the Forecast.

I have checked the GT_IO view of the product view and it shows all the forecast orders with strategy 20, while the Sales Orders (standard u2018BMu2019, order type u2018ORu2019) have no strategy assigned.

Plz suggest as what can be the cause of such problem.

Regards

Manu

Hi Manu,

Pl check your sales order details ,what the requirement type has been determined for the sales order through the table VBBE and check the allocation indicator for the sales order in the same table.

Apart from that check whether you have Integration model for requirement reduction

Thanks and regards

Thamizh

Thanks Thamizh / Venkat,

The issue is now resolved, it.s a combination of few SAP notes and deletion and recreation of all transactional data

Hi Manu,

Just delete the one sale order for test, then re-create again, then it starts consuming the forecast. This could be due to requirement type must have incorrectly copied into sale order. Hope this helps you.

Thanks

Venkat

Hi Manu,

It seems the master data set up is correct , try to run the report /SAPAPO/CSP_CORRECT_FCST , this will ensure that forecast getting consumed by the sales order.

i assume that you create forecast after CIFing the sales order.

Thanks and regards

Hi,

Please do the checks below.

- Check the requirement type in the sales order

- From this you can identify the requirement class in the sales order.

- Check if a check mode with the same name as the req. class is available in APO.

- If it is available, check the assignment mode in the check mode. It should match with the assignment mode in strategy 20

- If check mode is not available - create it

- If check mode available but has a different assignment mode, change the req type determination strategy to determine a req.class mapped as check mode with the appropriate assignment mode in APO.

- it is not advisable to change the assignment mode in APO for a req.class which does not support consumption in R/3

Thanks Ashok,

-Requirement Type: KSV

-Requirement class: 50

-check mode, req. class & same assignment mode is available in APO

Requirement Strategy in APO u2013 20, Category Group - K01

We are using all standard configuration as of now for testing

Hi Manu,

Does your forecast have descriptive characteristics (based on consumption group in Prod. master)?
