Inbound Quota for PPDS heuristics

Former Member

Dear Experts,

I am using SCM APO 7.01.

The scenario is as follows:

Product A can be produced from 2 alternate PDS.

I have maintained the following in the inbound quota arrangement in 000 dependent version.

Header level for product A:

-

Req split indicator

Min split quantity 100 TO

Item level

-

PPDS PDS1 40% Quota arrangement

PPDS PDS2 60% Quota arrangement

PDS1 Quota base Qty 100

PDS2 Quota base Qty 100

Heuristic

PDS1: SAP_PP_Q001

PDS2: SAP_PP_Q001

-

Maintained SAP_PP_Q001 in the product master PPDS tab as well.

Invariably changing the heuristic in the quota arrangement or even changing that in the product master,it does not help much.

When I take a heuristics run in the product view for product A,it just selects PDS1 and produces the entire quantity of 1000 on this.

When taking the run from production planning transaction as well, the result is the same.

Could you suggest if I am missing anything.

Thanks,

Chandan Burnwal

Hi,

Some points worth mentioning.

I tried the quota concept with PPM generated from the same production versions in ECC.

It works perfectly fine.

However, when I use the quota for PDS,it does not respect the quota at all.

Rather it takes the first PDS.

Yes,both the PDS are valid in the horizon and also I am able to change to the second PDS manually in the product view in the change source of supply.

It looks to be some issue related to PDS.

Note that I have already selected the BoM explosion method 5 with PDS in PPDS tab of product master.

With PPM it was set as 2 and it works perfectly fine.

Other than that I have not done any changes with PDS.

There can two reasons:

1.Some setting missing for PDS

2.Some notes to be applied for PDS

Thanks,

Chandan

Kindly note that even if I am phasing the forecast across weeks and months,I am getting the production plan generated on the first PDS/Resource only.

Hi Chandan,

Timely fulfillment of demand overrides quota/priority etc...

Pls check if PDS1 can meet the deemand on time whereas PDS 2 cannot...

In this case the scenario as described by you could happen...

Hi chandan,

Also, in your planning table, are both PDSes showing up in your planning horizon. Are you able to manually put in an order for the 2nd one during this time?
