XI behind a firewall !!! Parsing Fails!

Hi,

We have issues running XI behind a firewall and using a proxy with authentication to access internet.

The messages processed in XI include dtds that the SAP parser tries to download. Given the firewalled environment it fails and the processing stops...

I do not think that setting global parameters http.proxyHost, http.proxyPort would be a solution as it would impact the whole server’s http communications. What is more it does not support authentication that is required in our case...

Given the nature of XI and Netweaver (enterprise software), I can't believe guys from SAP didn’t anticipated this classical issue in secured environments.

Is there a way to deal with this problem?

Thanks

Adalbert

We had the same problem with an application deployed in Portal instance. These methods set the proxy for the whole JVM, so it's not recommended to use them.

And we didn't find a solution either...

Thanks Henrique.

This is not very promising but it confirms there is a potential issue

How did you manage to solve the problem, allowing the NW server/application to perform direct accesses?

We didn't solve it. We are not using the application right now, but we're considering the possibility of putting the machine on a DMZ.

Henrique.
