Hi evetyone,
In the shipment document there is an Overall Shipment Status that ranges from 0 to 7
In BI the standard SAP extractor only extracts shipments with statuses from 5 to 7 and it's standard. could you explain it from the business process point of view? Are the statuses from 0 to 4 are not important ones??
I simply don't get why would SAP standard extraction program filter out the statuses from 0 to 4!!
Thanks!
Shipment status indicates the stage at which a shipment process is currently
0 - means transportation planning started
1 - means transportation planning is complete
2 - means transportation vehicle checked into the loading area of warehouse
3 - means vehicle is being loaded or unloaded
4 - means vehicle loading/unloading is done
5 - means shipment is completed, that is vehicle leaves the plant/warehouse
6 - means shipment has begun
7 - means shipment completed, this is same like status 5
That is why only statuses 5 to 7 are selected for BI extractor, to only track shipments that have begun or completed and not yet in planning stage

In standard BI system, and in standard practices, this is a tool for reporting purposes. Managers, GM, directors may like to track when shipment begins and completed and not prepration stages like prepare vehicle, plan transport, etc.
If your customer don't like, you can ask the BI consultant to change it.
