Internal GUI Error - PI 7.1 EHP1

Hi All,

We are on the following SPS level of PI 7.11

SAP_ABA --> 711 --> 0004 --> SAPKA71104 --> Cross-Application Component

SAP_BASIS --> 711 --> 0004 --> SAPKB71104 --> SAP Basis Component

PI_BASIS --> 711 --> 0004 --> SAPK-71104INPIBASIS --> Basis Plug-In

ST-PI --> 2008_1_710 --> 0005 --> SAPKITLRE5 --> SAP Solution Tools Plug-In

SAP_BW --> 711 --> 0004 --> SAPKW71104 --> SAP Business Warehouse

ST-A/PI --> 01N_710BCO --> 0001 --> SAPKITAB8H --> Servicetools for other App./Netweaver200

When trying to logon to the ESR/ ID - After entering user name and pw, it hangs - and gives an error - "Internal GUI Error".

Do we need to update the SP?

I have done "restore archives and generate new certs" couple of times under Java WebStart Administration on Administration page.

Any suggestions on this issue?

Patch levels mismatch

Hello

It looks like your system is inconsistently patched. The ABAP stack is on SP04 and the java stack is on SP08. This is not supported by SAP. You will need to bring the ABAP up to SP08 so it is in line with the java/xi components. Most likely this is what is causing this error. There are dependencies between the software components which require they are always on the same SP release.

Hi Navchit,

I believe it can be more related to the Java itself.

Ensure you are using the 1.5 Java version for both Client and Server sides as they are the recommended versions for PI 7.11 release.

I have J2SE DevelopmentKit 5.0 Update 15 on my client machine. and JRE 1.6

And when I go administration link on starting page of PI, I see the following.

Make Release NW711_08_REL 
SP Stack Number 08 
JDK Version jdk15 
Latest Change 156137 
Synchronization Time 2011/09/13 08:56:55 
Build Time 2011-09-16 21:29 

What else do I need as far as Java is concerned?
