please provide the external testing process in QM

Hi,

My client want to MAP external testing process in their business scenario.pls update me how we can MAP in our QM process.

process is :-

1) Material sample will go to external testing (external vendor). :- on which basis that material will Gate-out.

2) sample quantity will not return from vendor end.only result will come.

3) after that result recording will done.

4) UD will done.

Hi,

I think you can use "Source Inspection" concept here.

By using this Source Inspection: You can make settings:

1. For Inspection Lot generation based on lead time when PO is released

2. For Inspection lot creation at GR or not

3. Sample will be drawn by the vendor or third party inspection agency and inspected and results sent to you.

4. You can fill the results or if your Inspection agency has access to RR transaction, they can record results

5. For Inspection services, you can raise a Service PO to the Inspn agency.

6. You can use 01 or 0130 Inspection type for this.

hi,

here in this sceanrio,

u may use the physical sample w.r.t Inpsection lot concept.

If ur sceanrio may link with in-Process production than via QPR6 u may create the physical sample and maitain the strg location of that sample, when u send that sample physically to some exernal agency for inspection point of view than create P.O and send it, and process ur Gate entry, when u recived the results than feed it into the systemagainst that inspection lot ( Physical sample).

Activate inspection type 15 for this and do RR after receiving results frm third party vendor.

You can use external inspection (inspection type 0130) in this case. Activate 0130 inspection type in material master as well @ opeartion level of Routing.

So moment you do GR of external operation you will get inspection lot of this GR (insp type 0130) in this case & you can record result against same.

U r right and exacly the external process defines like that in system,

but here user will ask abt the sample testing which was came out during PP and than it will send to vendor for inspection, there is no inventory movement , it may possible that sample destroyed after testing. only results will be their which user want to feed and lock the lot.

Yes, in this case it is good if they use external processing. This lot will not create inventory b'se they are not receiving any inventory in stock but only service. Just they have to record result in system.

Please note if you are running order for material X (CO01) then you have to activate insp type 0130 for material X, not for sub-component.
