What is difference between custom and generic Idoc?
Hi Jhon,
If client structure/requirement is not full fill with standard Idocs then we go for custom / generic Idocu2019s.
Custom Idoc: custom Idoc containing particular structure I mean multiple fields under segment .but
Generic Idoc: does not contain any structure, only one field under segment.(data coming in one field under segment from sap system)
Thanks,

HI jhon,
If client structure/requirement is not full fill with requirement then we go for generic Idoc.
And does not contain any structure, only one field under segment.
So main advantage is Reusability, we can use Idoc in any interface.
Dis.adv: sometimes we need to develop UDF when data is coming with segment delimiters / record delimeter.
thnkas,
