Reduce URL length using SICF alias

Hi Folks,

I want to shorten my URL length(currently 235, it's a portal address). Using this in the send mail step in workflow, which has got limitation of 131 characters per line.

I found from the following thread that, using SICF external alias link, we can get a referance like /default/sap/bc to replace

Please guide me how to do this alias in SICF, I tried creating a node under default host and add a redirect link in error tab and in alias target, not sure to select the right thing. Am I going correct?

Hello RahulKulkarni,

Did you click on the "External Aliases" button in SICF? It is a button in the application buttons on the top.

Hi Edgar,

I clicked 'External Alias' as well. But I don't know which service I need to give as reference. As we don't have an active service for portal in SE80 transaction on R/3 side, confused to select the right service for this in SICF.

Any idea?
