Dear Guru's,
We have upgraded from SAp ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 with Unicode. We have Db Instance(cluster) in one host
CI &ASCS Instances are in one host which are in cluster mode.
Is it possible for SPOF for my CI & ASCS Instance(both are in single host).
Could you please suggest me.
Is it possible for switch over & Fail over scenario's.
Thanks & Regards,
Srini
Hi,
From ECC 6.0 onwards, following elements are single points of failure
1) DB services
2) ASCS services
3) SCS services.
Rest other components like CI instance and app servers are not part of single point of failure.
Refer installation guides for planning of file system structure on HA setups.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Deepak Kori

Hi,
CI is no more SPOF. ASCS instance is SPOF. If you have installed your system as HA system then you can do the failover.
So, first checked whether ASCS and DB instance is installed on file system that can move across the nodes in the cluster. If that is the case then you can do the failover.
Thanks
Sunny
