SD/MM : Delivery Selection Date

Hello experts ...

I have a question to ask ...

The selection date in the delivery VL01N , should be in sync with the picking date in the Sales order - AM I right ?

However , at times this is not the case ... There is also a date in the first column of MD04 and at times the Delivery Selection date follows this. Can someone explain to me - how does this work ?

Even if I have stock in MD04, the system still follows the date in MD04 and not the picking date in the Sales order.

- Another question would be : What is this Safety time Date ? ST at the bottom of MD04 ?

somehow the ST date is On / Off and can be sync with the sales order picking date ....

Delivery selection date

The date with which you select the delivery that you want to process.

Procedure

If you also enter a sales order number, the system checks the delivery selection date against each schedule line for each item. If either the material availability date or the transportation planning date falls on or before the delivery selection date, the system copies the item into the delivery.
