As I understand, following are criteria on which moderators for wiki award you points:
Action | Points can be awarded for the action |
Min - Max | |
Added link | 1 - 2 |
Corrected spelling and formatting | 1 - 5 |
Added sentence(s) or paragraph(s) | 1 - 10 |
Created new page with content | 10 - 20 |
Restructured | 1 - 20 |
Is there any way by which you are awarded more than the maximum points one can be awarded for the action for the wiki contribution, apart from what mention above.
Regards
JP
Hi Prakash,
I hopeif you are looking to get more points than you mentioned may be you should start thinking in writing and submitting content, articles, I am sure you are aware of this.
More over after SCN ugradation I hope no one is gonna assign these points. But keeping SCN WIki platform clean is really a very big job...

I do observe one of your thread for .
I do tried to contribute through article. You can simply say bad luck, that content submitted by me still shows in submitted stage since the day it was submitted on Jul 2011. The reason got was, "it may delayed do launch of Jive!".
More over after SCN ugradation I hope no one is gonna assign these points.
Thats good then. I hope this will give everyone a fair way/chance to contribute.
But keeping SCN WIki platform clean is really a very big job...
Yeah! I will keep that in mind. I'm really working very hard this year (2011) to lift up the feel good effect and restructing the existing wiki pages ERP Operation Wiki, particularly, ERP SD.
But concern is can we more than 50 points, may be nearly 100 points for wiki contribution. Which I can see.
B'coz I never got more than 20 points for any of my contribution.
So, is there anyway we can get more that action related points mention in Tools - Request Points.
Thanks Pavan for the reply.
Regards
JP
Hi Prakash,
B'coz I never got more than 20 points for any of my contribution.
I think the points which you got assigned for formatting/adding some extra wiki content is justified ( My Personal Opinion). One cannot expect 100 or 50 points for simply adjusting the content right?
But as I think its really a very big job to keep the wiki section clean and formatted. Even I use to do this activity earlier, but once when I was doing, I lost some content of wiki and from that point of time I stopped doing this activity. KEEP UP THE SPIRIT.
Make sure you never format or add content in the way it appears in this [wiki|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/Deadline+Monitoring]. I donno who did in this way , he tried to add some content to this wiki and after that it appears like the in which you are seeing. I tried to adjust but was unsuccessful.
So Be Careful.
FUN Means SAP, SAP Means FUN

I believe, I have been miss understood here.
Let me clarify.
My contribution is not only restricted to restructure the existing wiki pages, whereas it involves of new pages also.
Have look on few of my restructure work (compare versions )

Have look on few of my fresh page posted by.

Definitely, anticipating feedback/comments.
Now gain coming back to my query, so that's related to Fresh content submitted.
Can we any way get more than 20 points, which feel is maximum cap for fresh wiki contribution ?
Please correct me if I'm wrong or somewhere misunderstood.
B'coz I can observe some where [ more than 20 points are awarded for a wiki contribution |https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B-5wCmYJ-6dlZWY5ZmMyZmEtOGU5ZS00Y2ZmLTljOWMtY2Y3NjNkM2VjZTg4].
I hope I'm clear on stand.

Hello Prakash,
Sorry for the delay, I just noticed this thread. Probably because my name was in it
I cannot speak about the points allocated to some wiki content that you mention here, maybe Moshe can comment, he knows better when it comes to the wiki.
Yes there is a point range in place and as far as I know no one has complained about it, the amount of points is fair and there is indeed the possibility to reach out the moderator of the space in question to request more points. I personally think what is even more rewarding than points is to be recognized by a moderator who notices your good work in the wiki. I think that is what you should aspire to. Of course you can expect this recognition to translate into points, but it doesn't have to. Feel free to reach out to the moderator directly, and get his/her opinion about the points for your contributions.
I hope this helps. I will ask my colleague Moshe to step in and also provide feedback in this thread.
I think you've been doing great so far! You're a platinum contributor which is not small potatoes
I thank you for your contributions and I am happy to see them in the wiki, it is where they belong.
Best regards,
Laure
Hi Prakash,
Thank you for your wiki spirit. The great things that happened to the SCN wiki in the last year is a result of this exact spirit.
The answer to your question is yes. Contributor can get more points for thier wiki contributions. Could you please reach out to me with a list of your wiki contributions and the relevant spaces and I will help you contact their moderators.
Besides discussing points you could consult with them on how to increase your engagement.
You can find my Email in my business card.
Thanks again,
Moshe
