Difference in location type in SNP

Experts,

What is the difference (except the icon in Planning book selection) between this two location types?

1001 Production Plant

1002 Distribution Center

Does it have any impact on the functionality?

Hi Art,

The basic difference between 1001 and 1002 is that in a DC, we can not have production. DC will always have a stock transfer coming from either another DC or a plant.

Thats the concept being taken while SNP planning.
