hi
Iam new to Java webdynpro interactive form development
i have designed a small application and trying to deploy,
i got some probs while deployment
iam using EP 7.0 J2ee Engine 6.40 and my developemt system has PDF 7.0 , ADS has been configured in WAS system.
I have the following... problems
When application is created and rebuild..i dont find any problems..when deploying from NWDS iam getting a message like

Deployment exception : Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !
After this a .EAR file was created,
can i use this EAR file to check in other systems???
since i have some configuration probs with my server which will be resolved soon.
mean while can i use this single .EAR file and deploy it in another configured system and Test it????
iam pasting the error log file plz have a look at it

at last i could deploy the app...iam still getting this error..no compilation errors..but application is not running...iam posting the error log plz have a look at it

Hi,
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: <b>Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized</b>. The requested URL was:"http://bw2.myitgroup.com/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document"
It means that the client (where your application runs) uses wrong user/password when try to connect to the server (where the ADS is deployed). So first the proper user/password is needed for the WS defined by the URL: "http://bw2.myitgroup.com/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document".
If you go to this URL, then Test, here you can test your WS call.
If it is OK, then you (or your administrator) have to configure the client part to use exactly the same user/password for the call.
To do that, start Visual Administrator, then Server -> Services -> Web Service Security -> Security Configuration -> Web Service Clients -> sap.com -> tcwdpdfobject -> com.sap.tc.webdynpro.adsproxy.AdsProxy*ConfigPort_Document and do the changes.

Thanks for your reply now i could get in, ihave one more issue, when iam trying to run the app , i could get the blank page, i could not see pdf form renderd in the browser. can i send the .EAR file to you, so that u can try on ur system. ADS was configured in our server,admin says no issues with ADS, so only option i have is to test it in some others system..if u can help me in this regard..i can send u whole application folder as attachment if u can send me ur emial id to this id

Thanks for your reply..i was use ful for me..
i have one more question
when iam trying to deploy, due to wrong password
deploymnet was not successful
finally a temporary .EAR file has been generated
can i use that .EAR file test it in another engine
i want to send it to one of my friend to test that
will that .EAR file work?? since it generated after
deployment failled.
i dont have any compilation errors
can you help me in resolving this issue

Hi Vivek,
I suppose you use standard WD (not a WD Development Component). You right-clicked on your application and chose "Deploy New Archive and Run". This command also implies a build. Your build part was successful, so YES, you can use the generated EAR to deploy it any WAS.
To separate build and deploy you should right-click on your project and first select "Create Archive". It creates the EAR. Then you can click on "Deploy".
In the Navigator or similar views by right-clicking on the deployable file (in our case the EAR), you also have the possibility to deploy it.
(In case of WD DCs the build and deploy are separated steps)
Regarding SDM password there are quite a lot topics in th sdn.

Regarding deploy problem the connection to the engine can be configured here: Windows -> Prefences -> SAP J2EE Engine
Regarding 'Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized' problem:
Please, check the configuration of the Web service client configuration for the ADS. The username/password seems to be wrong. To do that login to the Visual Administrator. Then Services -> Web Services Security -> Runtime -> Security Configuration -> Web Services Clients -> sap.com -> tcwdpdfobject -> sap.com/tcwdpdfobject/com.sap.tc.webdynpro.adsproxy.AdsProxy/ConfigPort_Document
Please, check the 'Logon data' part.
