My organisation has some 200,000 active recipies out of which approx 20% is not produced for last 2 years. Have anyone any idea about the cost of maintaing these obsolete recipies? I want to delete these from the data base and improve the cycle run time of various reports but also keen to know the cost Vs. Benefit impact.
Hi,
Any obsolete recipt in the planning are going to affect the quality of your planning results. It is shown as available recipts and hence system does not planned for any real shortages.
In order to have accurate planning resilts, no obsolete data should be present so that system can plan based on actual parameters.
Secondly from system performance it has following impacts
1) Livecache memory will increase if those unwanted receipits are not deleted
2) Database tables will overflow if those are not delted from the tables.
Please let me know if it helps
Thanks
Amit
