Performance evaluation of DMS and Easy DMS

Former Member

Dear friends

Before final Go Live decision for a DMS solution based on Easy DMS, we would like to make an evaluation of possible performance issues. The installation is "only" business document (no CAD files or other large files).

If there are bottlenecks that could be found up front, then we could take some action to avoid this, and get happy users.

Is there anyone that have made this evaluation, and could give some hints, or suggest resources that are able to support in such process?

We all know that get performance problem for new users, is badwill, and when moving from file servers to Easy DMS, we would like to create a lot of goodwill for using SAP (our test people have stated "this couldn't been SAP, this is too easy", and we would like to keep them happy and smile)

Dear eDMS gurus.

We also have some issues regarding performance in eDMS.

Our users store only outlook mails by drag'n drop from ms outlook into eDMS folders...

We have experienced slow performance when they add several files in "one move".

We are running 32 bits Win 7 on pretty slow laptops (i5 processors and 2 gig RAM).

Will the process speed up on a faster client PC's (Win 7 64-bit and fast solid-state drives) ?

How much do the client PC affect the performance ?

Please advice...

Would require more inputs from your end to actually comment on this!! Like

-what is the average file size(including best case, worst case)

-are your users geographically dispersed?,

-folder hierarchy depth in easyDMS,

-solution architecture(are you using content,cache servers?) et-al.

The above list is only indicative and each of the above parameters do have a bearing on the performance. A quick search on the DMS forum would yield solutions for issues associated with above areas.

Hi,

Have a look into the following link for some known issues on Easy DMS

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/I001Win32error+2.

Also go through the SAP notes 1386897 and 896018 pertaining to performance. Implement the same as applicable.

Hope this helps.
