Hi,

EHP4 upgrade is done by using SAP EHPi installer. When you will do the upgrade then it will upgrade netweaver components to 701 release and ERP components to 604 release. So, there is no need to upgrade netweaver components or ERP components separately. You will need stack xml file for it that you can download from MOPZ in solution manager.

Thanks

Hi!

Thank for your answers!

It is very useful.

Now i have same problem with generate stack.xml.

What i have done.

+solution_manager-MOPZ ->Enhancement Package Installation-> target ehp4 for erp 6/0/nw7.01, Target stack Sap Exp Ench Pack 4 on NW 7.01 SP 7.+

Technical Usages - Standard XI ContentStandard XI Content (I am not sure with this choice).

After confirmation this ttansaction I get stack file by t-code /n/tmwflow/mopz_stack(Copy-past)

But When i put this file to EHPi installer i received error

+SAPehpi broke during phase SUBMOD_EXTENSION_NEW/SELSTACKXML in module PREP_EXTENSION / Extension module for start release >= 40B+

+Error Message: Error reading stack info, return Code = -1, Reason = 'System expected element 'sp-stacks' &5&6&7&8'+

If you are not sure then you should not select this technical usage. You can discuss about technical usage with your functional team and based on that you can decide. For more information, you can refer SAP Note 1165438 - Enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP Required SWC.

It looks like there is some problem with stack file. Could you please paste detail log of this phase from upgrade directory ?

This is one of my main criticism about SolMan.

Customers don't know, neither the application responsbile people nor the basis admin. If you install a PI, you have no clue what is being installed whatsoever, three dozen Java components and various ABAP components. The content itself is a zip file downloaded and imported so it may not even be visible in a component overview.

It should not be in the responsibilty of the customer to select those components, either they should be selected (or not) automatically or there should be a different way of configuring systems instead of letting the customer to a technical mapping he may not be aware of.

Hi,

1. Do EHP 4 upgrade nw components (SAP_BASIS701 0007 SAP_ABA 701 0007 SAP_APPL 604 0008)?

During the upgrade you need to select stack level of your target release system. During this you can define what patch level each of the installed components should have. Ensure that all those patches are download and extracted in the /EPS/in folder.

2. do i need install ehp1 fo sap NW separately?

NO. While upgrade to EHP4 you can upgrade NW to EHP1 as well .

3. Can i use SAPehpi upgrade utility?

YES. You will need to use SAPehpi tool to upgrade your system to EHP4/NW7.01

Hope this answers your query.
