I downloaded Full ABAP Edition of SAP NetWeaver Sneak Preview and Trial, after install, I wanna develop XI-CONTENT, but cann't Launch Integration Builder, always open 'SapWorkDir' directory, but no error message showed, status bar print "starting browser...". And I did not using J2ee Server, only ABAP edition, of course J2SE 1.4.2.12 has been installed.

I do not known why , thanks for any help.

by the way I looked Syslog, there always a "Communications data: Service initialization failed" message each time I start NSP instance, but every things seems ok.

Hi,

Follow these steps while installing XI:

1. Windows server or advanced server with latest service patch.

2. IE 6.0 with latest service patch

3. Install Microsoft office and winzip, acrobat

4. Install JDK with version 1.4.2_03 or above with the corresponding JVM

5. Install the SAP GUI 6.20

6. Make sure that you have hard disk space of 10 GB in C drive and 50 GB in the installation drive.

7. Make sure the virtual memory is between 512 and 1594 or above for the installation drive.

8. Copy the dumps of following DVDs into the installation drive.

• Installation Master DVD

• Installation Export

• Additonal Components for SAP BW/SAP XI,SAP MI,SAP KW

• SAP Web As Java

9. Start the installation from the DVD dump Installation Master DVD.

10. When installing the ABAP Database the SID of the oracle default database should be different the ABAP database SID.

U can go through the Installtion Guides for Installing XI from http://service.sap.com/instguides (SR1 installation)

u can also refer to service.sap.com/platforms to see the available platform on which XI can be installed. ( Windows/linux/UNIX)

or you can even go through this weblog which clearly talks to you about XI installation

In addition to this installation guide you also need to download the XI configuration guide which is very useful for technical configurations of various adapters and XI system.

At the same place you will also get the XI configuration guide e.g XI30ConfigGuideSPS11.pdf.

U can also download SAP Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 SR1 Installtion Guide from the articles scetion.

Hi,

sneak preview does not contain

XI so you won't be able to open integration builder

you need to have access to normal XI/PI to open

integration builder

start the Java Web Start program first(such as c:/Program Files/Java/j2re1.4.2_02/javaws), do not start the builder directly from the browser.

Integration builder for design:

Integration builder for configuration:

Hi,

Just adding on to what Michal said,

SDN has recently released 2 Sneak Preview products:

- SAP NetWeaver 04 SP15 Full Java Edition

- SAP NetWeaver 04s Full ABAP Edition (with Web Dynpro for ABAP)

But for XI we need both the Java and Abap stacks and not just having them individually, because of which you cannot use it for XI.That is, the Sneak Preview products contain either the JAVA or the ABAP stack but not both together.

The link below i guess will also help you learn more about the Sneak Preview products and get a clear idea on the same:

http://www.howforge.com/news/sneap-prevew-sap-netweaver-04-sp15-java-abap

And incase you had installed XI or PI has Michal suggested then probably the solution provided by Ben will be useful..

I hope this clears your doubt....

Abhy
