CrystalReports2011ReportApplicationServer failed

Hi,

We installed BO4.0 on VM and Linux, everything seems fine, except "CrystalReports2011ReportApplicationServer", i can't start this server from CMC, i got error message saying "This server is considered failed because it has stopped 5 time(s) in 60 minute(s).".

Does anyone have same problem?

Hi!

You should follow the instructions per note 1311735

stop bo system

Kill Xvfb daemon(or process)

Find the Xvfb from your OS installation(>which Xvfb)

Backup and replace Xvfb from your BO inst(see note 1311735)

start BO and servers at CMC

Actually yes. For BO 4.0 SP02 installing latest patch (version 11 or above) helped. This fixes the issue:

ADAPT01598939
The Crystal Reports 2011 Report Application Server shows a failed status after starting all servers on Solaris
platforms.
The problem is resolved. The Crystal Reports 2011 Report Application Server is started successfully and shows a
running state.
Limitations:

It helped for an installation on RHEL 5.8.

I suggest you update do the latest servicepack/fixpack and see if the error persist. If yes, check the logfiles of the system.

What's the latest service pack? we just installed SP2, isn't it the latest?

Hi Markus,

We installed the latest SP still couldn't fix the problem, the log file didn't say much.

We are using VM 5.6 on top of Linux Redhat.

Is there any compatible issue of BO 4.0 with VM or Linux?

Did anyone's BO4.0 with Linux or VM went well?

If it doesn't work with the latest fixpack then now would be the time to check logfiles for possible errors.

I have met a same issue. I have installed the BI 4.0 SP2 FP14 on the SLES 10 SP4 (CMS and Audit databases run under DB2 9.7.0.4) and everything goes well except CrystalReports2011ReportApplicationServer. It does not want to start. There is only one related log file and this is /usr/sap/SID/BO/BI4/sap_bobj/logging/rptappserver_SID.CrystalReports2011ReportApplicationServer1_trace.000001.glf

. Can you recommend me, what am I supposed to looking for? There are not any errors.There are these "stop" records:

What could be a reason for the Crystal 2011 RAS does not start?

note: I have added to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH also /usr/sap/SID/BO/BI4/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/java/lib according to the RAS failed to start - It has stopped 5 time(s) in 60 Minutes and restarted whole node. It has not helped.

Unfortunately, not. Even, there is SAP Message Priority 1 on the place since my first post into this threat...

Hi, in my case I am talking about former BOE (Enterprise) server, which contains also Crystal functionality.

Hello, Anton,

actually, solution was repairing of installation. But, there is still unclear the root cause. If you have got the C-user, track SAP messages: 328855/2012, 592561/2012, 659695/2012. It is a mass. The SAP AG recommended us to repair registry at first. It did not help. Another recommendation was to repair installation. After repairing the CMS did not start. Then was something wrong with dashboard. And at the end it starts itself. Nobody knows how? But, SAP messages has been closed by SAP AG.
