Patch Installation server with NWBC 3.0 Patch 8 / 9

Hello,

We have a GUI installation server that has NWBC 3.0 PL7 installed. Patching it with NWBC PL8 and 9 succeeds without any error but clients do not get updated afterwards and remain at PL7.

Has anyone experienced this is as well?

I am able to install new patches for the GUI and BEX and those get pushed to the clients without any problem so the issue appears to be with the NWBC patch.

Any input will be appreciated!

Hello Sander,

Is there any error logs in the nwsapsetup.log?

It will show as 1E or 2E for errors and 1W and 2W for warnings.

In the log on the server after patching or in the client after updating?

I did find these lines in NwUpdateInstServer2.log on the server:

10:08:03 NwSapAdmin 1E Component '{82E12394-48A1-4D26-980C-44E29146D1E6}' required by '{3019F548-522D-43AC-9C11-9ACA958EB675}' (SAP NwBc) not found

10:08:03 NwSapAdmin 1E DM: Component '{82E12394-48A1-4D26-980C-44E29146D1E6}' not indexed in map!

That would suggest that the patch is not applied but it does show a new version in nwsapsetupadmin and when I try to run the patch wizard again it says that the patch archive contains no new versions.

Solved the issue by recreating the installation server, then extracting the NWBC patch file and importing it to the installation server.

Apparently there is new version of nwsapsetup in the NWBC update file which did not work well with the installation server.
