MDM 7.1 and LDAP integration

Hi Guys,

in the MDM 7.1 Console reference guide : LDAP Support section : it says

"MDM supports either LDAP users or MDM users, but not both simultaneously. "

what does it mean in reality ??

that once the config settings are done for LDAP user usage - then we CANNOT log in the MDM native GUIs (like data manager / import manager etc) ??

thanks

-Adrivit

Hi Adrivit,

The reference guide talks of a best practice scenario but if one wishes to access the MDM guis using MDM user/roles this is supported.

Please see the note 1522100 and note 1279785 for further details.

Please go through this very relevant step by step document:

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/8054d5e1-1000-2c10-a09e-a168973f7...

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hello,

"MDM supports either LDAP users or MDM users, but not both simultaneously."

*This means once you have an LDAP configured in your system, the access/roles/authority all will be done through LDAP, even if you have created user's or role's in MDM Console. you will not be able to access any MDM GUI Clients with the users, as this users are not present in the LDAP.

For exmaple, the default user id 'Admin' if not present in LDAP, you cant access any of the GUI Clients through 'Admin'.

Regards,

Abhishek
