CTS+ Question

Hi All,

I am new to MDM and have a question on CTS+

we did create repositories, maps, rules, expressions, workflows, etc in MDM.

My Question is,

When I export repositories thru CTS+, will it also export maps, rules, expressions, etc. or is there a separate procedure for import manager, data manager, syndication etc

I did follow this link for CTS+

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0dd1ae0-36e5-2b10-f8b4-e6365e643...

Hello,

I guess CTS+ only transfers the repository schema.

The Expression are not transfered you need to re-write them again.

For maps, you can open the Import Manager, and use the export and import functionality, same applies for Syndicator.

Apart from calculation, and maps for us everything else was transported.

Thanks.

I Just followed the document mentioned above...couple morer questions now.

1. How will we transportt the webservices generated thro web generator..

2. .xml files(file exported thu CTS) have to be moved manually to Q landscape or CTs will take care of it.

Hello,

Web Service, is not a part of the MDM CTS+.

you have to manually transport the files extracted from Dev to Qa to PRD.

the xml files generated should automatically be transported to quality system, if manual intervention was requried why would one required change and transport mechanism

Can CTS+ be used for initial tranports or only after a chnage is made to the repository.can some body advice

Hello,

Only the changes can be transported.

you can always trnasfer the archive file from your development system to qa and then prd.

and as for your earlier question of manual or auto transport, you can refer page 44 for the pdf document

Thanks Abhishek.

So we should be using export/import schema or archive/unarchive for the initial transports to Q and Prod?

not CTS+ .......am I right ?

How about moving the referencefile.XML file to Q and Prod ? Will that not work ?

Hello,

For the initial transport, we would doing manual transport, move the archive file generated to production.

The reference.XML havent tried this option, but i guess this is a reference file, it wont serve our purpose.

Hi Shoba,

When you are moving the repository from QA to production, you have to archive the QA repository and Unarchieve in the production enviroment

We cant use CTS+ for the intial transport and it is meant for Change Management

The Reference file which we create in QA is to keep a base line for system

Any changes to the repository , system will track changes based on the reference file and create a change file

Also a new reference file is created which includes the changes to the repository as well which will act as a base of coming changes
