Hello,
this is a behaviour we didnt expect.
The mail server is working fine with the receiver mail adapter.
So we are sending mails based on this SDN thread
with attachments created during mapping.
But...in test phase we need to check for connectivity issues.
So the tester changed the URL for the smtp server ..
In our SAP PI 7.1 it seems that the mail is sent out to receiver mail address
but the smtp server address is wrong and we expect to get an error back in monitoring about connectivity.
Is this standard PI behaviour or is there a solution how to handle this?
Using flag on "send delivery status notification" does not change the result.
Can you give any advice!
Thank you in advance!
Regards
Dirk
Hi,
the tester was monitoring only SXMB_MONI.
So he wasn t aware about the error log in communication channel monitoring.
Recommendation: If your tester is working at a different location ask him what he is doing exactly....

if the SMTP URL is wrong then the mail adapter will not be even able to connect to it.
So i guess whatever change you have made is not yet reflected in cache and it is picking up the old configuration and posting the messages successfully.
Can you do a complete cache refresh and check again?
