Former Member

My business is Textile at each stage of production confirmation(bleaching, Dyeing etc.,) from one str loc to another stor loc finally the finished product will be in FGSL(finished goods str loc)

It is necessary to do MIGO against the production order and should keep the stock (GR against Production order)..???

Appropriate to move this thread from ERP MM to ERP Manufacturing(PP).

Dear Pranav,

1.Either you can set the automatic Goods receipt for the order through the control key that's assigned in the last operation of

the order,so that GR(101 movement) is performed automatically during last operation confirmation or during order level

confirmation.

2.You can also set the Automatic Goods receipt using the production scheduling profile.

3.Only after performing GR for the order the stock of the product gets increased.

4.This GR against the order can be manual through MIGO or else automatic GR as I have mentioned in the first 2 points.

Check and revert back.

@pranav_23,

You do not have to do any STOs or 311's. You do goods receipt (using MB31 or MIGO) from production only once, maybe into storage location FGSL but not necessarily because you want to do good receipt directly where you stock the final product if you the manufactured finished good doesn't sit longer in FGSL.

Your finished product is considered the finished product only after it is finally made. If you do goods receipt at first storage location and keep on issuing it to other storage location you system will have lot of inconsistencies while planning (MRP for example) because it sees as the product is already available.

All the storage locations it passes through like bleaching, dying etc can be used to issue components to production so you maintain these in BOM item level (if you're issuing any components). When you do confirmation you need have operations setup to map to every stage (dying, bleaching...maybe you have to set up work centers for each of these depending on the requirement) you confirm operation by operation and enter the "yield" quantity in the production order confirmation. When it is finally made (physically) you do goods receipt like i mentioned in first paragraph.

Dear Jeevan

Thanks for ur inputs, But when my PP people does prod confirmation say from Dyeing to bleachin and then bleaching to mercharizing....stock moves from storage loc to storage location finally it should come to packing storage location when they do confirmation (from prev stage of packing) it comes to packing str loc after that again one confirmation to FGSL....

Here it automatically comes to FGSL......thats y i am asking is it compulsary to do GR against production order......

Dear Pranav,

Confirmations from production is to conclude that these stages ofd activties have been completed for an order, but finally you

have to perform a GR either manually or automatically, then only the final product's stock will get posted to your desired storage

location.

Like Mangalraj said confirmation and goods receipt of the produced product are two independent events in standard SAP. Yes for the stock of finished product to appear in MMBE/MB52corresponding to the production in SAP you have to do goods receipt (unless in case of collective orders) and it can be set to done automatically by setting auto goods receipt (can be set at routing level using control key or material master level) or done manually through MB31/MIGO. And generally production storage locations do not have any link to finished product being produced.

hi all,

Here when the material goes to first statge material code will be CG01...then when it goes to bleaching it will be BL01 when it goes for mercharizing MC01..& after packing PC01......

when the pp person does the prod confirmation itself for the next stage material moves with diff code & diff storage location

Like this it reaches the FGSL(Finished str loc) after packing.....

so in MMBE it shows the stock for Finished product(FG01 is the code for finished prod).

Hi Pranav,

If the movement between the storage locations are within the same plant you can look at the option of storage location-to-Storage location stock transfer posting (Movement type 311 or 313 depending upon you need).

At the end do a MIGO against the Production Order when you receive the finish goods.

Hope this is useful to you!

Yes, you can follow STO process , because the storage locations are in same company code. Thanking you.
