EHP Upgrade

Hi

We are in process of Upgrading our ESS and MSS portal to EHP2.Our current Portal system is on EHP1,but the ESS and MSS components and Packages on portal side are on 600 Version.Can we directly upgrade ESS and MSS components directly to 605( Which is EHP5) along with the required BP's irrespective of other Portal/Java components.Our Back-end ECC system is on EHP5 along with the HR Components.

Kindly Suggest on the approach.

Hi,

You can directly upgrade your ESS/MSS components and BP's to 605 level but you have to make sure that there is no dependency on underlying Netweaver portal version.

Hi Sunny,

Thanks for your input and response.Can we directly downlod SAP_ESS and SAP_MSS and BP's related to portal or do we need create maintainance transaction and generate XML for those components,aslo can we delpoy those components through SDM or it has to be done through EHPI only.Our plan is to upgrade Portal/Java components to EHP2 and then proceed with deployement of SAP_ESS and SAP_MSS,BP's for the same,as we have some issues while calculating Queue for HR Portal components.

Please suggest

Hi,

You should deploy these packages through JSPM instead of SDM and you don't need xml file for it. But make sure that you full fill the prerequisite of ESS/MSS packages and then install.
