Data and Configuration copy of Existing BI Production to New BI Development

Dear Team,

Currently we have exiting BI Production Server installed with below mentioned details,

SAP EHPI Netweaver 7.0 on MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and BI Content 703.

Right now re-implementation of SAP ECC 6.0, EP 7.0 and BI are in process.

We now we have installed new BI Development Server with below mentioned details,

SAP EHP2 Netweaver 7.0 on MS SQL Server 2008 and BI Content 706.

Since all the old datas and existing configuration are in Old BI Production server and we have planned for new development and fine tune the existing configuration, for this reason we have installed the new BI development server.

for the configuration and fine tunning in the new BI development server we need data and structure of existing BI production.

Please guide us for doing the same. need to copy only datas and structures of exiting BI production server to New BI development server.

You need to copy the structures manually as the version of both the systems are different.

Dear Sunny,

We need to copy entire data and all the structure from exisiting BI production server to new BI development server.

BI production contains all the data's & reports, which they are using daily.

Please help us in the procedure to do these activties.

Hi,

As I said earlier, you need to copy all the structures, info cubes etc. manually as both systems are on different release.

As far as data is concerned that you can load from ERP system any time by running data load chains.

Thanks Sunny,

Since the existing BI Production is very important for them and for thier management & business reports, they are not ready to share credentials, and moreover they are making changes and modifications in production server itself.

For avoiding unwanted reports and structures, new BI implementation is planned.

Please guides in actual procedures to copy the structures from BI Production server, so that we start working on New development server and plan QA & PRD BI server with SAP EHP2 Netweaver 7.0 with BI CONT 706.

Have to propose them the procedure to do the same.
