Hi,

      • ERROR => CONNECT failed with sql error '1033'

It seems the dispatcher is unable to connect to the db.

Can u recall if it so happened that by some means the SAP<SID> user password has changed.

Try the following

Try resetting the password again via brtools.

In the sap server run BRTOLS from cmd prompt then proceed as follows

Brtools----->Choose Additional Functions--->Choose Change Password of DB user

Enter choice 2(Database User/Password)

In user prompt give saptek and in password prompt put the password u had changed earlier ie abc123.

Then enter c (for continue) u will be prompted for the new password

When u put the new password it wont be displayed in the prompt just type

Complete the entire guided process.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

However i did not have any password changes for sure. So account lockout is out of the question.

I have both java and abap stack running. Now both doesnt work. disp+work.exe goes yellow for a while and then stops.

What i actually suspect is, i once tried to set the CMS domain(since NWDI was not properly configured) but it got stuck for long time so i restarted the server.

after the next start it didnt work at all. Please help.

Regards,

Ganesh

Hi,

Have you checked note suggested to you earlier ? Please also try to register sapstartsrv again.

Thanks

The error clearing states ORA-01033 which means the database is either starting up or is shutting down and hence unavailable.

The work process hence is not able to connect . Please check if the database is up by connecting to the database using sqlplus.

If you are able to connect to the database try to check the status of the database.

pls verify if the database is up and running or follow SAP note:

#23345 Consistency check of ORACLE database

to check for oracle consistency

if it is corruption in the database, it can be caused by harware issue as well.

Do consider that.

Regards,

Vincent

Hi Ganesh,

Is your database up.Whats the output of R3trans -d. This is the basic check one needs to do.Please paste the trans.log if you get a non zero rc.

Check SAP note 655240. Also, your oracle client version 10.2.0.1 is not supported.

Thanks
