I have created a sales order with item category TAD for services. I have maintained in item category TAD relevant for delivery. But while creating outbound delivery (vl01n) I am getting error message as follow:
Item category TAD is not defined, so item 000010 will be disregarded
Message no. VL478
and
Item category TAD is not defined
Message no. VL324
Please help.
Hi Payal,
In practicality a service is not delivery relevant as a commodity, it is Intangible.
But however, If you have to deliver the service just try with Item category group u201CDIENu201D, General Item catagory"LIES" And If you use Item catgory u201CTADu201D its not relevant for delivry. Also do maintain copy controls between Sales Doc. type vs Billing" doc. type.and then run the process.
Sorry there was some error while posting, I corrected.
Prerequisit is Irrespective of Item category, just do Item category determination w.r.t Sales doc. type.
Regards
DSR

Hi,
There are multiple reasons for this message, have you maintained copy controls from order to delivery T.code VTLA,if yes check
at item level your new condition type TAD is there or not.
check have you created delivery item category or not in T.code (Zero) 0VLP and do the delivery item category determination .
IMG - Logistics Execution -Shipping - Deliveries - Define Item Category Determination in Deliveries.
Check and revert

Hello,
Check the item category determination in the Delivery.
SPRO --> LE- Shipping --> Item category Determination in Deliveries.
Check whether the proper item category determination is maintianed for your delivery type or not.

SAM
