MDM not connecting to Oracle.

HI Everyone,

MDM 7.1 SP06 with Oralce 11g on Windows Server 2008 R2 Environment

Recently we have moved our MDM server from one location to another location (i.e) data center shift.

After this move, we were not able to connect MDM, this issue has been fixed 1 month back by changing new public in tnsnames .ora. After that it was working fine.

Just 1 week back i have restarted the (server) host after that i am not able to connect MDM to Oracle Database.

Kindly note after the restart the problem starts, that means when i entered new public IP in tnsnames.ora that time i didnt restart and just week back i restarted the server so that problem starts.

So i guess server(host) restart become a problem now, new entry in tnsnames.ora did some changes after restart in the system thats why facing this problem.

Anyone knows how i can fix this issue. i did lot of search and investigation but no use and no luck.

Even tried reconfigured the listener and tnsnames.ora but still same problem.

Error:

When i tried to mount the repository in MDM console i am getting the below error.

"Unable to connect with DataBase server"

Can anyone pls help me to fix this issue.

HI Ahmed,

Please go through

SAP Note 1350635 - "Problem connecting to database from MDM console".

SAP Note 1363797 -" Oracle connection problem".

Please revert with findings.

Have already tried all the below option for this issue. But no luck still facing issue.

SAP Note 1350635 - "Problem connecting to database from MDM console".

SAP Note 1363797 -" Oracle connection problem".

I guess there is a problem in listener, let me explain in detail.

Actually there are two sap system in this same host.

1st is EP its up and running fine without any issues.

2nd is MDM its making a trouble.

So there is two different database instance 1 belongs to EP and other one belongs to MDM.

there are two listeners in service.msc and only one is up and running the other one is starting to failed.

At the same time both the listeners are not coming up (not starting).

Any other solution?

Hi Abisheik,

Already tried this note.

This note already recommended by SAP support. But there also a problem.

I have a doubt.

I didnt do any configuration changes and i did only new public IP in tnsnames.ora then i restarted the server, whats wrong in this activity.

For you information below is the tnsping for MDM

Hello,

this seems correct,

One last option is to take restart the MDM the server along with the database server.

sequence to follow is

shut down MDM Server

Database server

Start DB server

finally mdm server.

which version MDM you are using.

Sorry for the late reply. Was follow up with SAP.

Still facing the same issue.

SAP request to refer the below NOTE but, no luck still facing same issue.

My MDM version 7.1 SP06.

Check if you are able to logon to the DBMS, also check the log in the mdm console, also check for the database entry when you unarchive an repository is it present or not.

If not then you need to check you database connectivity.
