Hi Colleagues,
after I installed Identity center on Windows 7 , I am trying to add new repository but I encounter below error:
"component MSCOMCTL.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"
I followed below steps as suggested on http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1460590#post1460590 .
1.Start Menu
2.All Programs
3.Accessories
4.Command Prompt(Right Click Run as Admin)
<Within Command Prompt>
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Users\xxxxxxx>cd c:\windows\syswow64
c:\Windows\SysWOW64>regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx
I executed this for file mscomct2.ocx also .
Both succeeded.
But still i have above mentioned error.
can you please help to resolve the issue.
Kind regards,
Pradeep
Hi
I doubt that Identity Center will run on Windows 7, but I never tried.
Did you install IC with Admin-rights (Setup.exe -> Run as Admin), also?
Do you run IC with Admin-rights?

There's no reason that the console would not work in Windows 7 and you can probably get the whole system to work there if you wanted.
Try doing an uninstall and reinstall as administrator. I'd also suggest copying the OCX file from another working system.
It's been a while since I've seen this error. I don't recall if you are required to registeer the OCX file. Maybe it failed and you need to do it manually?
