Raju,
Integration Process or BPM is used for STATEFUL Message Processing in XI.
When you have dependencies in your interface flows, when servral messages from different sources need to be cominbed together etc , BPM is used.
Consider a case, when you need to receiver multiple IDOC's from different R3 systems, before you can proceed with processing in XI. In Such cases, BPM allows stateful processing by allowing to collect the messages and then process with the funcitonalities that you want.

BPM is mainly used in senarios where extra functionalities are to be done with the source message which cannot be done using the normal mapping and user-defined functions, like splitting and merging and collection of messages and etc...
