I spoke with and SAP in expert chat.

I asked if SAP had any fonts available for download, and they do not - other than "Asian" fonts, such as Chinese, Korean, etc. They said we need to purchase through a 3rd party vendor.

I also asked if they have a suggested vendor, and they said they cannot make any suggestions.

You can use the .ttf file from your Windows installation (probably C:\Windows\Fonts\Arial.ttf). You don't need a license for using it. Only if you redistribute the actual font file or reverse engineer it, then you would need a license.

OSS Note 201307 describes the installation of truetype fonts.

Hi,

Truetype fonts are third party products and are not provided or licensed by SAP. One possible source is Ascender Corp.

Perhaps you can use te Arial ttf font from your Windows PC. I am not sure if there are any licensing issues here.
