BI Background job failed

Dear All,

Sapnetweaver , Oracle , Windows.

Yesterday One BI Background job got failed and we dont find much log for cancelled job .

Please check the below cancelled job log details :

13.11.2011 05:20:30 Job started

13.11.2011 05:20:30 Step 001 started (program Z_O2S_FTP_BW, variant EBIS ODS PBI2, user ID BACKGROUND)

13.11.2011 05:20:39

13.11.2011 05:20:39 Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE

Kindly advise what reason job got cancelled.

Hi,

Check ST22 tcode for dumps during the same time period.

Also double click on the error_message line which directly takes you to the dump details.

hi ,

I have already checked but i dont find any dump on 13.11.2011

but we have got some runtime error on 12.11.2011 , i dont know this error is related to cancelled background jobs.

Hi,

It looks like a communication issue while using an RFC.

Are you aware what does the corresponding program Z_O2S_FTP_BW do? Also from the job name sounds like an FTP connection is involved. If so, check in SM59 tcode -> TCP/IP connections if the connection is working fine.

Hi,

From the program name details and the error message you getting I could make out that you have a BI report running in background which writes some data to an ftp location.

In case my understanding is correct, please check the following

1) sid<adm> user has proper rights to access the desired location

2) Entry in hostfile is maintained for the desired location.
