'Error getting levels for hierarchy' message when creating olap universe

Hi BO/Universe Experts,

I received this error message

A runtime exception has occurred. (Error getting levels for hierarchy (Dimension: 0ADDR_LINE1): Unknown error.

when I attempt to create a new OLAP universe from a SAP BW BEx query. In my BEx query, I have added all 10 address line infoObjects (ie. 0ADDR_LINE0 to 0ADDR_LINE9) as row items.

Why is BOBJ Universe Designer not able to create the levels for this 0ADDR_LINE1 dimension?

Please could you let me know how to fix this error.

Hi,

Assuming that the SAP login used in the OLAP connection has sufficient rights to consume those Attributes objects remotely , then this should be no problem.

you would also need other Characteristics (not just attributes) and at least 1 Key Figure.

a quick search in the knowlege base suggests this is a BW admin issue, and that a basis admin report needs to be run ZZ_REPAIR_HIEDIR (see RSR_REPAIR_INFOAREAHIER as mentioned in

the note 954673)

Universe Designer does not support hierarchy.

Sure it does.

You have the Level(s) of a flattened hierarchy - for OLAP sources.

or you have the Custom Hierarchy Paths - which are the navigation paths between relational objects.
