Dear HANA Gurus. The HANA we have, running on version 1.0, SPS02, with Rev.16.
We wish to upgrade it to Rev.17. Need the help from those 'who has already arrived' here. Does it need SUM to update/ upgrade the revision, or we just extract all the SAR files for HANA DB, Client, Studio, LT, etc. and put it at some specific location, for ./hdbupg to find it, and 'calculate' the update stack?
There is no specific 'How to' available on this, so posting the query here. Many thanks in advance.
Hello,
please see server installation guide and update guide (page 23 - Installing or Updating the SAP HANA Database):
https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000604572011
If you wish to use graphical GUI - then look at page 24 - 7.2 Installing or Updating Using the Installation Manager
...and use hdbsetup program
If you wish to use command line approach - then look at page 30 - 7.3.2 Update Methods Using the Command Line
...and use hdbupd program
'Any directory' means? How hdbupg will read the source and target paths?
You will be asked or you can provide via parameter.
Tomas

SUM supposedly is for SP upgrade only. For Revision upgrade we used 'regular' way: extract install files to any directory, run 'hdbupg' for the database, corresponding 'hdbinst' for Studio and Clients.
