Would appreciate any feedback on how to configure keyboard buffering in the SAP GUI if that even exists.
Examplee: for some remote work sites users are doing order entry so typing very fast. There are scenarios where WAN latency is seen, and it's like the SAP GUI cannot keep up with what is being typed in and so sometimes typing is lost.
So anything around keyboard buffering, keystroke buffering, float control, possibly some sort of type-ahead type of configuration is what is being looked for but haven't found anything yet.
Thanks!
Hello Dan,
Unfortunately, there is no such buffer in the SAPGUI.
The keyboard buffer is very small and can only contain small amounts of data.
A type ahead feature is not possible with the R/3 three tier
architecture. You can enter data on an R/3 screen as fast as you like,
until there is NO communication with the Backend system.
So if you press e.g. ENTER and the data will be sent to the backend,
the input of SAPGUI is blocked until the a reply from backend is
received.
Best Regards,
Jude
