Dear SAP gurus and expert,
I am new in SD module, would like to seek for your professional consultation on what should be done.
Currently the client company is being bought over by another company, and some configuration need to be done. However, not sure from where the configuration need to be started.
Would like to know what needs to be concern or done in order to configure the SD module when the company being bought over by another company which is also using SD module.
Kindly advise.

Hi Leonard,
Apart from coping all the standard SD configuration you should be ready for lots of reports to be produce, as the company is recently bought by new owner they will definitely ask for various SD reports to evaluate the business more.
Further to that there will be new super users and users so you have to maintain authorizations accordingly ( it will be done by basis but still you have to involve in that). Also you should be ready with the list that which SD functionalities are not used by previous owner because new owner might ask you to implement those as well.
These are only thoughts but hope will help you.
Best of luck for new challenge,
Davinder

From SD perspective, you need to chart out what are the existing configurations done (like number of sales areas, shipping points etc) in the company which has implemented SAP.
Based on this, you have to decide whether the same can be extended to the company which is going to implement. Of course, all these needs to be decided depending upon whether company code would be same or a new company code would be created for this new company.
As for as possible, try to retain the existing configurations and document types if the company code is same, so that it will be easy from MIS point of view.
